The bottom-driven crystallisation tank for lactose preparation is equipped with cooling jackets on the wall and bottom. The inner cylinder provides 10% extra cooling surface. This improves the cooling efficiency by approximately 20%. As a result, a greater lactose yield is obtained for the same process time.
The most important feature of this tank is that the agitator is driven from the bottom. The drive shaft runs through the inner cylinder. The seal of the inner cylinder is above the product level. This means no oil leakage is possible.
The slanted inner cylinder creates both an axial and radial stirring effect in the product. This ensures homogeneous cooling of the product.
Version | The tank is equipped with a special bottom-driven crystallisation agitator. The tanks are insulated and equipped with a cooling jacket with an inner cylinder for extra cooling surface. The top is conical and equipped with a manhole. The bottom is flat and slopes towards the outlet which is located on the side. |
